I played a key role in shaping and elevating Build Buddy’s brand presence by leading the design of marketing and sales collateral, including digital social campaigns and promotional assets.
Alongside this, I contributed to the app’s UX/UI design, taking ownership of user flows, navigation systems, and visual direction to create a more intuitive and cohesive experience. My work focused on aligning user needs with business goals, resulting in improved usability, stronger engagement, and a more polished in-app journey.
Design Thinking + Execution
Build Buddy needed a brand that could effectively speak to two very different audiences—tradies and customers—while maintaining trust and approachability across both. The challenge was creating a visual identity that felt professional and credible to tradespeople, yet accessible and relatable to a broad customer base ranging from young couples to retirees.
I led the development of a flexible visual system that could adapt across these contexts, balancing clarity with personality. A key decision was introducing “Barry,” the brand mascot, to humanise the platform and create a consistent, approachable touchpoint across communications. This allowed the brand to feel less transactional and more engaging, helping bridge the gap between audiences while maintaining cohesion across marketing and product experiences.
